The shelter is a 12-bed facility for eligible clients.

The Community OutReach Inc was founded in 1983 by a group of people who saw the need to help low income families and the homeless. COR is a short-term emergency facility for homeless, domestic violence, and crisis situations.
In 1983, the old Farmers Service building was purchased and renovated, with part as a thrift store, and part as a food pantry.

The shelter was constructed, in 1987, as an add-on to the existing building to contain a kitchen, living area, men/womens bathrooms, two congregate bedrooms, one single bedroom, and two single bedrooms for the live-in caretakers.
