Services:Campbell Connection is a federally funded program through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act. This program is for families or naccompanied youth who are living doubled-up with family or friends, staying in a shelter, motel, hotel, car or trailer park. Services may be provided to any child or student who is staying someplace other than a fixed, regular, adequate nighttime residence. Campbell Connection services students aged preschool to 21, and who are attending Covington Schools. Undocumented youth have the same rights to a public education as U.S. citizens. The Campbell Connection Coordinator can assist with enrolling students experiencing homelessness immediately, even if the student is unable to provide documents that are typically required for enrollment. This program ensures academic stability by allowing the student to remain in the school he/she attended prior to becoming homeless. The Coordinator will assist the family with transportation, school supplies, tutoring and opportunities for summer programs. In addition, Campbell Connection will link the family to community agencies to ensure that students needs are successfully met.
Mission Statement: The mission of the Campbell County School District, in partnership with students, staff, parents, and community, is to do “WHATEVER IT TAKES” to ensure our students’ success in college, career, and life.
