I was asked to get off the Amtrak train in Sebring for smelling like alcohol. I was transferred to Lakeland after being Baker acted in Sebring. I heard stories in the hospital about people being kicked out of the shelter at 5 am and cannot return until 3 pm and must exit the property at 5 am. They do have a work program from my understanding. This is likely the only choice in Lakeland for a person needing to get out of the rain, bugs and the heat or cold.

This is a bad shelter. They won't help you get on your feet. They just want you to be Christians and going to a church service every night is required. Even if you belong to a different religion you have to attend these services. They don't really want to help you but convert you to their religion. The shelter is just a way for them to judge poor people and they don't help anyone get independent. I wanted to be a part of a program to get an apartment. They kept implying I was on drugs and didn't even know me. You're treated terribly as a homeless person and they don't help. They just keep you dependent on them so they get money.
